The main aim of classifying elements  is to arrange the elements based on atomic number  and following periodicity. The fundamental property of elements is the groups and periods are arranged in such a way that they consists of similar physical and chemical properties.extremely leftside you find metals and extremely right side you find nonmetals and in between them you find metalloids.

harshit12342: I think ..................... more fundamental property of elements that is used in the development of modern periodic table is atomic number
Sharath339: Yeah.. That's right

Answer:

The main aim of classifying elements is

It makes the study of elements easier, systematic and simplified as elements with similar properties are grouped together.

Atomic number is the fundamental property that is used in the development of Modern Periodic Table.

Metals are found on the left hand side and centre of the Modern Periodic Table.

Metalloids are found in a zig Zag manner between the metals and non metals.

Non - Metals are found on the right hand side of the table
