a) State the method used to separate iron and Sulphur

Magnet can be used to separate iron from sulphur.

b) Two immiscible liquids, oil and water, can be separated by using Separating Funnel. The process involves using the mixtures of unequal particle density. Because water is denser than oil, it can be separated by means of the funnel and left in the funnel with an oil layer.

c) Technique used to separate chalk powder from water is filtration. Reason – Because this process is used to separate the components of a heterogeneous solid-liquid mixture in which solids are lights and insoluble in liquids. Substances used as filters are sand filter paper at C.

d) Sieving is a method of separating the components of a mixture if they differ in size. We use this method to separate wheat flour from its bran. Here, fine powdered particles of wheat flour pass through the sieve and the huge bran particles stay on the sieve.
