Objects of surveying:

The primary object of survey is the preparation of plan estate or buildings roads, railways, pipelines, canals, etc. Or to measure area of field, state, nation.

Object of geodetic surveying is to determine precise positions on the surface of the earth of widely distant points.

secondary triangulation is a technique for establishing thedistance between any two points,or the relative position of two ormore points, by using such pointsas vertices of a triangle or series oftriangles, such that each trianglehas a side of known or measurablelength (base or base line) thatpermits the size of the angles ofthe triangle and the length of itsother two sides to be establishedby observations taken either uponor from the two ends of the baseline.
