The image formed by mirror in all the cases is either real, virtual or inverted.

  • a. Between O and F - When an object is placed between the pole (O) and focus ( F) of a concave mirror the image is then formed behind the mirror and the nature of image is erect, virtual and magnified.
  • b. Between F and C - When an object is placed between centre of curvature (C) and focus (F), the image formed is beyond the centre of curvature and the nature of an image is inverted, real and magnified.
  • c.beyond C -  When the object is placed beyond the centre of curvature (C) of concave mirror, the image is formed between the centre of curvature and the focus (F) having the nature as inverted, real and diminished.
