the president has two rope of powers executive and emergency powers.

Emergency power-

in case of external aggression or armed rebellion

if constitutional machinery of a state breaks down

if there is a threat to the financial stability of the country

Executive power-

He can appoint:-

prime minister

governer of states

chief justice and other judges of supreme and high court

chairman and the members of UPSC
