principle of Vernier callipers:The magnitude of 'n' vernier scale divisions is equal to the magnitude of '(n-1)' number of main scale divisions.
formula:
least count,LC=value of 1 MSD÷total no. of VSD
total reading,TR=MSR+(CVD×LC)
MSR=main scale reading
CVD=coinciding vernier division
VSD= vernier scale divisions.
hope it helps..✌✌

Answer:
The vernier caliper uses the principle of alignment of line segments to determine the more accurate reading. The length of the object to be measured is placed in between the two jaws of the vernier calipers. ... The decimal value of the measurement is obtained by adding vernier caliper value to the main scale.
