Required Answer:

Heat is important for those animals because it help us to survive in that region. Cold-blooded animals do not maintain a constant body temperature. They get their heat from the outside environment, so their body temperature fluctuates, based on external temperatures. If it is 50 °F outside, their body temperature will eventually drop to 50 °F, as well.

Answer:

They reduce heat loss from the body and act as a good insulator. Animals of colder regions and fishes of cold water have a thicker layer of subcutaneous fat, in order to retain heat in their body and thus maintaining the body temperature
