Anga was an ancient Indian kingdom that belongs to eastern Indian subcontinent. It is one of the sixteen mahajanapadas.

It is located on the east to Magadha which is separated by Champa River. Magadha is the rival of Angas.

Anga was mentioned in the Jain Vyakhyaprajnapti’s list of ancient Janapadas.

Anga was named after Prince Anga, the founder of the kingdom.

Angas have strong root in Jainism.
