Function of the Nucleus. The nucleus is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Inside its fully-enclosed nuclear membrane, it contains the majority of the cell'sgenetic material. This material is organized as DNA molecules, along with a variety of proteins, to form chromosomes.

Hello there,

Before going to the answer a few points are to be considered.
1.According to cell theory every organism are composed of cells.

2.these cells whether they maybe prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells have structures that controls all the intracellular activities talking place.

Coming to the answer....

Nucleus encloses most of our genetic material which includes DNA which is a crucial component in mitosis (cell division).

It controls all the bio Chemical processes taking place inside the cell and it also regulars the gene expression.

The nucleus is protected by a membrane called the nuclear membrane.
There are two layers of membrane:

1.inner membrane:it protects the components of the nucleus nd provides rigidity to it.

2.outer membrane :this membrane protects the nucleus nd it's inclusions from external components .this layer is also aligned with he membrane of do it before endoplasmic reticulum.

Due to The functions mentioned above ,nucleus is also called the control centre of he cell.

I hope this helped u....nd doubts are indeed welcome
