"Two reasons for the use of secondary storage devices along with primary storage devices are as follows,
• Since, primary storage devices are generally fixed at one place and not much portable, secondary storage devices can be used to add mobility/portability to data stored. Thus, secondary storage devices can be used for the purpose of transferring data and it is the best portable backup.
• Since, the secondary storage devices are smaller in size and more portable, a person can keep it with him every time when he cannot take the computer device with him. So, if the need arises when he has to store some data with him from a different system, he can use the secondary storage device."
