Some of his basic postulates were:
- All matter is made up of very small, discrete particles called atoms.
- All atoms of an element are alike in weight, and this weight is different from that of any other kind of atom.
- Atoms cannot be subdivided, created or destroyed.
- Atoms of different elements combine in simple whole-number ratios to form chemical compounds.
- In chemical reactions, atoms are combined, separated, or rearranged.
These are some of the most important points of his postulates. While there are several other points, I believe these points should be sufficient for school studies or SAT preparation.
