Some of the vices of bureaucracy can be a misuse of power, corruption, undemocratic usage of law.

EXPLANATION:

  • Bureaucracy is a system of policy making in which the policymakers are not elected democratically. They are either selected by government or through various tests.
  • The practice of appointment of bureaucrats through written test was first used in China. Since it is not elected democratically it has many vices attached to it. In India, Bureaucrats have been found to misuse their powers in favour of themselves or some selective individuals.
  • They are also found to be involved in many corruption cases by manipulation of government agencies by giving them false data.
  • There are lots of rules and regulations in the working of government offices and there were instances where bureaucrats were found to be meddling with laws against the public, so instead of helping them sometimes, they make their work to progress slower. These is some of the vices of bureaucracy.
