Differences between groundwater and surface water:
Groundwater:
- Groundwater is the underground water that is obtained out of the ground with the help of wells and water pumps.
- Groundwater contains the water that is soaked from the rain, melting snow. Groundwater is a pure water.
- The dissolved minerals which it picks from underground but it still is less contaminated due to the rocks which act as filters.

- Surface water could be easily found in lakes, ponds, rivers etc. for public use.
- Surface carries a lot of contaminated things such as animal waste, industrial wastes, algae, etc.
