sulphur is non lustrous metal, and does not conduct electricity.it is non sonorus

Arijit111: It is non metal or metal
MouryaTurbo: It is a non-metal: its molecules are rings of 8 atoms covalently bound. It is a non-conductor, without free electrons. That’s at room-temperature and one atmosphere. If it is compressed hard enough the covalent structure will break down and you will get free electrons; it is then metallic suphur.its molecular formula is S8.
Arijit111: You have written in answer that it is a non lustrous 'metal'.
MouryaTurbo: what i ment was that :-
MouryaTurbo: actually lustrous as know is a property for being shiny and here it isnt shiny . hence i wrote it as a non lustrous metal.
MouryaTurbo: so did u get it

• it has high ionization enthalpy or has negative electron gain enthalpy which means it can easily gain electrons.
• it is an electronegative element
• it is non lustrous, does not conduct electricity
