The three requisites  for the image formation are:

  • All light beams should be emitted from a definite point and flow through the image-forming optical system converge to a certain point.
  • The  points of the image relating to individual object points that are lying or acting in the same plane perpendicular to the optical axis lies on a same plane.
  • An object planar shape and an image planar shape which are lying or acting in the same plane perpendicular to the optical axis are kept in a scaling relationship with one another
