The Kenyapithecus had teeth which are similar to the teeth in the new world monkey family, with thicker molar enamel, large mandibles and premolars and upper incisors.

Kenyapithecus had limbs suited for walking, aided by knuckle support, for semi-terrestrial movement.

The fossil of Kenyapithecus was discovered by Paleoanthropologist, Louis Leaky in 1961 in Kenya. The fossil is believed to be 14 million years old and the Kenyapithecus is believed to be the ancestor of the modern ape.
