State two points of difference between a bye election and midterm election

Mid-term Election:

If the Government falls due to in the Lok Sabha or the state Assembly before five years means before the completion period and no alternative government is possible, mid-term elections are held.

By Election:

It is held in case of vacation of any seat during the term of legislature. It may be by death, region cancellation of election commission or such other reasons.

This type of election is held when a state legislative assembly or the loksabha is dissolved before the completion of its full term. The new house will normally have a full five year term.

By-election

When a seat held by any member of the legislative assembly in the centre or state falls vacant on account of death,resignation of the member before completion of his/her term,to fill up this vacancy the election which is held called by election. The person so elected remains the member for the unexpired term of the house.
