State two reasons for the development of nantionalism in the late 19th century

1. the great revolt of 1857 had almost obtained a national character. people from different classes and castes - princes and common people - all had come together spreading the word of brotherhood and nationalism.
2. the introduction of western education had provided the Indians with the European ideas of liberty which also raised questions of the presence of british rule in india. this also spread nationalism.
there are many other factors such as british imperialism, development of means of communication, common mode of language,social reforms, racial prejudices, discrimination in providing higher services to Indians, etc.
