Two ways in which we can determine the amount of work done are :-

i) By finding the component of displacement along the force.

ii) By finding the component of force along the displacement.

The work done by a body is the dot product of its Force and Displacement.

We know,

W = \vec{F} . \vec{S}

Or

W = FS cos \theta

The work done by a body can be found as follows:-

1. Resolve the Force along the direction of its motion

2. Multiply the the component of the force along the direction of movement with the magnitude of displacement.

The Work Done would be in the form of Joules which is the SI unit of Work Done.
