Fixing of nitrogen by N2 fixing bacteria which are found in root nodules of legumes or which are free living. Ammonification by bacteria in soil, conversion of ammonia to nitrates or nitrites to nitrates by different type of bacteria. Nitrates to nitrogen in air by different bacteria.
