Wien’s displacement law states that the wavelength for which the emissive power of a black body is maximum is inversely proportional to the absolute temperature of the black body.

λmax∝1/T⇒λmax=b×1/T,λmax∝1/T⇒λmax=b×1/T, where,

b=2.898×10−3b=2.898×10−3 mK.

As per this law, as the temperature of the black body increases the wavelength at which the intensity of radiation is maximum gets displaced or shifted towards the side of the smaller wavelength
