Stomata are found in the epidermis of plant leaves.

However, its position would vary from one plant to another plant. In a few plants, it is found on either sides of the leaf or is found only on one side of the leaf.

If stomata is present on either sides of the leaf, then it is called as amphistomatic and if it is present in the upper side, then it is called as epistomatic and if is present on lower side, then is called as hypostomatic.

The main function of stomata is to give gas by taking carbon dioxide from the environment and give oxygen to humans and animals. This is also used in photosynthesis and transpiration process.
