a voltmeter measures the voltage difference between two different points (say, on different sides of a resistor), but it should not change the amount of current going through the element between those two points. So, it should have very high resistance so that it doesn't "draw" current through it.... hope it helps you pls mark as brainlist......

A voltmeter must have a high resistance and not a low resistance.

The function of voltmeter is to measure the voltage difference between two distinct points on different sides of a resistor, but it should not alter the amount of current passing through the element between those two points. So, it needs to have a very high resistance so that it doesn't "draw" current from it.
