false

Chord:

A chord of a circle is a line segment joining any two distinct points on the circumference of a  circle

Diameter:

A diameter of a circle is any  line segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints lie on the circumference of the  circle.

The diameter of a circle is a chord but the converse is not true.

Answer:-No , every chord of a circle is not a diameter.

Explanation:- A chord is a line segment that has it's two end points on the circle.A diameter is a line segment that passes through the center of the circle. In other words, the chord that passes through the center of the circle is called the diameter.

Hence, every chord is not a diameter. But every diameter is a chord. In fact diameter is the longest chord of the circle.
