  1.  A number in the form of a±√b is called a mixed quadratic surd, where "a" is rational number (non-zero) and √b is a pure quadratic surd.
  2. All irrational numbers are not surds.
  3. For example root over pi (√π) is irrational number but it is not a quadratic surd.
