When sucrose is hydrolyzed, it leads to the production of two different products namely glucose and fructose which are the components of sucrose.
Thus it is inferred that hydrolysis of sucrose is known as inversion of cane sugar.
Sucrose is called disaccharide because it is made up of two monosaccharides called glucose and fructose. Thus statement 2 is correct.
As both statement 1 and 2 gives two different information, statement 2 is not explaining about statement 1.
