Both the statements are true but statement 2 is not the correct explanation of the statement 1

-  In alkaline solution, H₂O₂ reacts with  potassium ferricyanide. The Potassium ferricyanide is reduced to potassium ferrocyanide in this reaction

- So the statement 1 is true

- H₂O₂ can act as both oxidising agent and as a reducing agent also

- so the statement that H₂O₂ is a strong reducing agent is also true
