i. A rectangle has a perimeter of 10 cm. If its sides are doubled, by how many times will its perimeter increase?

ii. A square of side 2 cm has an area of 4 sq. cm. By how many times will its area increase if its sides are doubled?

iii. Two square tiles, each of length 10 cm are placed side by side to make a bigger tile. Find the perimeter of the big tile.​

Answer:

(i) 2(l+b)=10

2(2(l+b))=20cm

(ii) l×b=4

2l×2b=4(l×b)

16 square cm

(iii) bigger will be a rectangular tile

so, l=20cm ; b=10cm

perimeter = 2(l+b) =2(20+10) = 60cm
