Steven visited a goat farm last Friday. He saw 7 goats being kept in one lawn. The total number of legs for the goats was 476. How many lawns were there at the farm?

No of heads =20

No of legs =76

Let the number of goats be x

Let the number of chickenss be y

So each of them have 1 head .and each chicken has 2 legs where as each goat have 4 legs

Total heads =>heads of goats +heads of chickens =20

x+y=20 ———-(1)

Total legs =>legs of goats +legs of chickens =76

4*x+2*y=76 ——-(2)

Solving equations 1 and 2 gives

x=18 and y=2

No of goats =18

No of chickens =2
