when you say something u speak words.
said is the past tense or past participle of say
if you tell someone something,you give them information.
told is the past tense and past participle of tell.

said - indicates that 2nd person has spoken. But it is not confirmed that someone has listening to it.It is the past tense of say.
told - indicates that 2nd person has spoken to 1st person or may be with others.
It is the past tense of tell.
