Some differences between animals and plant cell :

Animal cells are smaller in size.
Plant cells are larger in size.

Animal cells have no cell wall.
Plant cells have a cell wall.

Plastids are absent in animal cell.
Plastids are present in plant cell.

Centrioles exist in animal cells.
Centrioles are absent in plant cells. Only some lower of plants such as fungi and algae have centrioles.

Animal cells have usually a few small vacuoles.
Plant cells have one large vacuole.

Lysosomes are common in animal cells.
Lysosomes are not often observed in plant cells.

Golgi bodies are well formed in animal cells.
Golgi bodies are not well formed in plant cells.

Some similarities between animals and plant cell :
Cytoplasm is present in both animal and plant cell.
nucleus is present in both animal and plant cell.
Cell membrane is present in both Plant and Animal cell.
endoplasmic reticulum is present both animal and plant cell.
Ribosomes are present in both Plant and Animal cell.
Mitochondria is present both in plant and animal cell.

Function of cell organelles :

Cell wall: It gives shapes and rigidity to the cell.
Plastids : Storage of starch, site of some pigments and help in photosynthesis.
Vacuoles : It stores soluble food, wastes and secretions of the cell dissolved in water as cell Sap.
Lysosomes : They contain enzymes for cellular digestion. If they get damaged or destroyed.Hence they are called suicidal bags of the cell.
Golgi bodies : They synthesis, store and secrete enzymes and proteins.
Ribosomes : They are the site of protein synthesis.
Nucleus : Regulated metabolic activities and transmits.
Mitochondria : conduct cell respiration and release of energy.
