Given :-

  • Store A sells a 500 GB hard disk for $85.05 with a 20% discount .
  • Store B sells the same hard disk for $76.05 with a 10% discount.

To Find :-

  • which store to buy the hard disk from. ?

Solution :-

→ MP of Store A hard disk = $85.05

→ Discount given = 20%

So,

Selling Price = {MP * (100 - Discount%)} / 100

→ SP = {85.05 * (100 - 20)} / 100

→ SP = (85.05 * 80)/100

→ SP = 85.05 * (4/5)

→ SP = 17.01 * 4

→ SP = $68.04

Now,

MP of Store B hard disk = $76.05

→ Discount given = 10%

So,

→ Selling Price = {MP * (100 - Discount%)} / 100

→ SP = {76.05 * (100 - 10)} / 100

→ SP = (76.05 * 90)/100

→ SP = 76.05 * (9/10)

→ SP = 684.45/10

→ SP = $68.44

since ,

$68.04 < $68.44

→ Store A < store B

Hence, we have to buy hard disk from store A , to buy at cheap Price .
