A Mongoose and a child.
There was a couple , they had a 5 year old son named Rahul. Rahul had a pet mongoose which was his all time best friend. Their friendship was so mature that whenever slept , the mongoose waved his furry tails round Rahul's cheek to make him sleep faster. Their family lived near a shallow forest therefore many of the times some snakes used to invade their house. But, they didn't worry of snakes as they had a mongoose as their pet who used to tear the snake into pieces. The mongoose had defeated the snakes many times. Many a times when Rahul's parents had to go for work then they left Rahul alone in the home with the mongoose . The mongoose took great care of Rahul.
One fine day Rahul's parents went for the work leaving Rahul back home along with the mongoose. Soon Rahul slept under the blanket. Few minutes lates a deadly snake entered Rahul's home. As soon as the snake entered, the mongoose started fighting with him. They had a long-lasting fight but the mongoose won by tearing the snake into pieces with the help of his teeth.
By the time, Rahul's parents came back home. As soon as they entered the varandah the mongoose rushed towards them to share his story of bravery. Meanwhile, Rahul's parents saw blood in the mongoose teeth and thought that the mongoose has killed their son. They filled with anger and in rage of anger , they killed the mongoose on the spot by hitting him with a rod.
But, after they entered the room from the varandah they saw their son sleeping peacefully and a dead body of a deadly snake was lying beside his bed. Now, they understood the matter of fact that the mongoose didn't killed their son but killed the snake. After they realised their sin they , regretted too much of loosing a faithful friend.
