Answer:

Any great dramatic work has a number of elements that keep the story engaging. My Side of the Mountain, by Jean Craighead George, is no exception. From the plot of a boy braving the wilderness by himself to the way that the story wraps itself up, readers are engaged the entire way. This is in no small part due to the elements of conflict to be found in the work, as well as the buildup to the climax and the ultimate resolution of the story as a whole.
