It was Saturday and my parents were not at home. Being alone I could not sleep peacefully as I was afraid of sleeping alone in the night. This was the very first time my parents have left me alone. The neighbors were mugged last week at night. Theft was at the peak in our colony. All I could think about is what if someone enters our home for robbing us. Then suddenly I heard sounds of utensils falling in the kitchen. To make it worse then I heard the sound of glass breaking. My heart suddenly started beating very fast. I quickly grabbed my phone to call my parents or the neighbors but there wasn't any network coverage in the mobile. I didn't know what to do next. My brain stopped functioning. But then somehow I gathered some courage and got up from the bed. I grabbed my cricket bat and slowly moved towards the kitchen. It was silent like a graveyard. I don't know what I was thinking. As I entered into the kitchen I saw broken glasses and some utensils lying here and there. But I didn't found anybody there. Then suddenly out of nowhere a cat just jumped across me and ran away. She almost gave me a heart attack. I fainted on the ground for some time. But I recovered soon and said to myself " Thank god it was just a cat and no one else". After that I went to bed and fall asleep only to be woken up by my parents in the next morning. Thank god I survived that night alone.
Home Alone On A Rainy Night
It was Saturday and my parents were not at home. being alone i could not sleep peacefully; and it started raining heavily .To make matters worse it was followed by power cut as I lighted the candle suddenly I saw a scorpion crawling across the floor and hid under the bed. I jumped onto the bed out of fear. Scorpions scare me to death. I had a creeping feeling that the scorpion would climb up the wall and sting me.
So I was on tenterhooks until my parents returned. Actually they had gone to attend a wedding party. I had opted out to stay back at home to watch my favourite reality show on TV. Unfortunately, the weather got rough followed by torrential rain. The outage had made things worse. I was scared of the dark so, I did not go out to start the generator.
The sight of the scorpion inside the room had curdled my blood. It was at midnight that I heard the familiar horn of my father’s car. No sooner had I heard the horn than I scampered to the gate and opened it. As soon as my family entered the house, I told them the tale of my woes. My father bent and with the torch saw under the bed. In the farthest corner lay the scary scorpion crouching sticking to the bedpost. My father used a broom to throw the scorpion out. I relieved a sigh of relief. I resolved I would never stay alone at home in future.
