It was the day when I got felicitated by my principal for my good performance in school cricket tournament as captain but I did not find any enthusiasm on my team’s face. I could not understand why and I looked at each of them to get an answer. But, no one said anything. I noticed that Rahul, the best player of our team was missing. I asked another member Sanjeev about Rahul. All that he said was Rahul had mild fever and was taking rest at home.  

Although I knew this was not the truth, I decided not to ask anything more till the felicitation was over. It seemed like eternity till this happened. I then approached my team and raised my doubts once again. They looked at one another without saying anything. Finally, I told them that unless they told me why they were not happy about the felicitation that was the result of the team’s hard work, I would not be their captain anymore. I also said that I would not talk to them.

At this point, Sanjeev told me that Rahul’s mother had met with an accident and was seriously injured. She wanted O- blood but they were struggling to find donors. The minute I heard this, I asked them which hospital she was in. I rushed to the hospital and met the doctor. I told him I had O- blood and donated the required quantity of blood. His mother made a miraculous recovery and the team was happy once again.
