Structural differences -

a). Xylem comprises of xylem vessels, tracheids, xylem parenchyma and xylem fibres. Whereas phloem comprises of Seive tube, companion cells, phloem parenchyma and phloem fibres.

b). Xylem tissues are hollow whereas in phloem tissue protoplasm of companion cell is shifted into corner that makes tube like structure for transportation called sieve tubes.
