- actual picture of diamond is in the second attachment
Structure of Diamond:-
- In diamond, each carbon atom is bonded to four other carbon atoms forming a rigid three dimensional structure
- Diamonds can be synthesized by subjecting pure carbon to very high pressure and temperature. These synthetic diamonds are small but are otherwise indistinguishable from natural ones.
Structure of graphite:-
- in graphite, each carbon atom is bonded to three other carbon atoms in the same plane giving a hexagonal array. One of these Bonds is a double bond.
Structure of Buckminsterfullerene:-
- Buckminsterfullerene is a type of fullerene with the formula . It has a structure that resembles a soccer ball, made of twenty hexagons and twelve pentagons. Each carbon atom has three bonds.
All these are the Allotropes of Carbon.

Answer:
Diamond is a solid form of the element carbon with its atoms arranged in a crystal structure called diamond cubic. At room temperature and pressure, another solid form of carbon known as graphite is the chemically stable form of carbon, but diamond almost never converts to it.
