Given:
Distinction percentage = 75 %
Marks in first semester = 82,67,53,87
Marks in second semester = 88,78,76,69
Marks in third semester = 89,85,91,67
To Find:
Minimum Mark of in the fourth semester to secure distinction.
Solution:
For the total marks in the fourth semester,
Total marks in the first semester = 82+67+53+87
= 289
Total marks in the second semester = 88+78+76+69
= 311
Total marks in the third semester = 89+85+91+67
= 332
Marks in the fourth semester will be the remaining marks to reach 75 % of the distinction.
So,
Total Maximum Marks in all semester = 4*400
= 1600
Now,
75% of 1600 will be,
So, the required mark is 1200.
Total required marks in the = Total Maximum marks - Sum of three
fourth semester semester marks
= 1200-289+311+332
= 268
Hence the required mark in the 4th semester is 268.
