Children’s Day Celebration
The teachers and children remembered Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, our first Prime Minister, and celebrated the love that he had for all children with a host of fun-filled activities and delicious food.
The Pre-Primary children arrived at school, dressed in colourful clothes and were full of excitement during the special assembly conducted in the WCH. The children were completely immersed when they watched the SEN department introduce new rhymes and songs through shadow puppetry. The children were shown a short presentation on ‘Chacha Nehru’ after which they were taken to participate in fun rides and interesting games organised by some of our enthusiastic mothers. The children were thrilled to get popcorn and candy floss from a special counter arranged for them. There was excitement in the air and the young ones were full of stories about their special day at school.
The students of Class 1 and 2, enjoyed the mini -fair with activities like games (ring the object), different rides, face painting, magic show, photo studio wherein students used different props and got their photographs clicked. The students were then treated to yummy homemade snacks, which the teachers had prepared with oodles of love.
The students of Class 3 to 5 had a lovely surprise to begin their day, as each one received personal messages from their teachers. They continued to enjoy themselves with a special class on glass painting with their art teachers. The excitement continued with a plethora of relay races such as sack race, lemon and spoon race and filling the bottle race. Their eventful day ended with students watching the movie ‘Sindbad-The Legend of Seven Seas’ while munching on popcorn and savouring the candy floss, cakes and juice amidst plenty of laughter!!!!
In the Middle school, it was a day wherein fun and frolic dominated, after the grind and rigour of academics in the morning. The teachers presented a light-hearted assembly dedicated to their students. They entertained the students with a brain-teasing quiz, a thought for the day by Monica Ma’am, a short spoof on the quirks of our students, a hilarious mime act about an incompetent doctor and his fashionable assistant and the music teachers performing ‘Socha Hai’ and a ‘unique’ performance by Teachers’ rock band called The ‘Jugaad Rock Show'. Of course, they enjoyed the chocolates and candy floss as much as the babies! To end the fun-filled day, the teachers and students played a great game of football.
