students of class were given a rectangular plot of land ABCD fir gardening activity . Saplings of Gulmohar were planted on the boundary such that distance between any two consecutive saplings is 1 m . Further , there is a triangular grassy lawn in the plot as shown in the below figure . The students are to sow seeds of flowering plants on the remaining area of plot.
(I) Taking A as origin , find the coordinates of the points P,Q and R.
(ii) Find the area of triangular grassy lawn.

I) P (4 m , 6 m),Q (3 m,2 m) ,R(6 m,5m)

II) Area of triangle PQR = 9/2 square units

Given that the point A is acting as the origin . We will find the coordinates of the points P,Q,R with respect to A.

Each gulmohar sapling is placed at 1 m from each other .

Coordinates of P - (4 m , 6 m)

Coordinates of Q - (3 m , 2 m)

Coordinates of R - (6 m , 5 m)

Area of the triangle PQR = 1/2 [x1 (y2 - y3) +x2 (y3 - y1) +x3(y1 - y2)]

x1 = 4, y1 = 6

x2 = 3, y2 = 2

x3 = 6, y3 = 5

Area = 1/2[4(2 - 5) + 3(5 - 6) +6(6-2)]

= 9/2 sq. units
