Let the total number of students be x

Students who like red color = $\frac{1}{4}$ of x

= $\frac{x}{4}$

Students who like blue color = $\frac{1}{8}$ of x

= $\frac{x}{8}$

Student who like green = $\frac{3}{5}$ * x - $\frac{x}{4}$ -  $\frac{x}{8}$

=  $\frac{3}{5}$ *  $\frac{5x}{8}$

=  $\frac{3x}{8}$

15 students like green :-

$\frac{3x}{8}$ = 15

x =  $\frac{15*8}{3}$

x = 40

∴ No. of student were surveyed = 40
