I stand steady in the middle of the living area of the house. I am of great use to everyone. The little ones get their books and pencils and spend hours rubbing their elbows on me. And when they are done, they conveniently walk off, leaving me feeling untidy. But I feel the worst when someone spills hot tea or a sugary drink or drops some hot spicy curry on me. Luckily for me, the lady of the house is very efficient and quickly cleans me up. She also makes efforts to dress me up with pretty table cloths. Though the table cloths block my view a bit, I feel presentable in them, especially when there is a party at home and most of the conversation happens around me. That is because all the yummy food is laid out on me! Whenever I hear the saying, 'Good food makes good memories', I see myself being a part of all those memories. And that's what makes me feel good and important everyday!
