ANSWERS:

  • Displacement = 25 m
  • Distance = 53 m

SOLUTION:

Refer to the given five attachments.

DISPLACEMENT:

  • Area under velocity time graph gives displacement.

  • Displacement = Area of velocity time graph = 25 m

DISTANCE:

  • Velocity time graph and speed time graph are same expect for the negative velocity time graph.

  • The negative velocity time graph becomes positive in speed time graph.

  • Area under speed time graph gives distance.

  • Distance = Area of speed time graph = 53 m

ACCELERATION:

  • Slope of velocity time graph gives acceleration.

  • The negative slope of velocity time graph gives negative acceleration.

  • Since the velocity has a straight line, the acceleration is constant over that particular period.

  • For time , t = 0 to t = 2 sec , a = 3 m/s²

  • For time, t = 2 to t = 4 sec , a = 0 [There is no acceleration. It has constant velocity]

  • For time, t = 4 to t = 5 sec , a = 6 m/s²

  • For time t = 5 to t = 7 sec , a = -6 m/s²

  • For time , t = 7 to t = 9 sec , a = -2 m/s²

  • For time, t = 9 to t = 11 sec , a = 0

  • For time, t = 11 to t = 12 sec , a = 4 m/s²
