Study the velocity time graph of an ascending passenger lift in given figure along side. Which physical quantity is measured by area under quadrilateral ABCD then calculate it.

In velocity time graph , time is taken on the X axis and velocity on the Y axis.
The area enclosed between the velocity time graph gives displacement of body.

Displacement = velocity x time.

Area of quadrilateral ABCD:
As it is a rectangle, we have area as :
Area = lxb
= 8x4.6
=36.8m
Therefore displacement under area ABCD IS 36.8m
