I. Read the two paragraphs given below and guess what might happen next in
the story. Underline the words or phrases that give you clues about the ending
and then write a paragraph concluding the story.
It was Monday morning and Zoya had just walked into the coat room. She said
hello to her friends, Riya and Siya, who had just entered the room where Zoya
was removing her gumboots. As Zoya changed into her sneakers, she noticed
that Jack, who was sitting beside her, had mud on the sole of his boots. Just
then, the bell rang and Zoya made her way to the class.
Miss Rose, the class teacher, stood up in front of the class. Though she usually
wore a smile on her face, but this morning she was frowning. She said, "Today
someone walked through the flower garden at the front of the school. There's
path of squashed flowers right through the middle of the garden. I know it's
tempting to take a short cut through the fiowers, but Principal Iris has
announced many times that no one may walk through the flowers. If one of you
responsible, please speak up now, else there wil be no recess today."​
