Hi Atlas! Here is your Answer :
Outer space is an example of vacuum. The sentence is TRUE .
Reason :
Vacuum : A space in which there is no particle of matter is present. Generally vacuum is the space between two celestial bodies or it can be artificially created by taking out all the pressure.
So, in the outer space, The area has no particle of matter present as most (almost all) the particles have fallen into all the celestial body (Star, Planets, moons, meteors, Asteroids, comets etc.)
So, if there is no particle left in the space between two celestial bodies, A vacuum will be Created as there will be zero pressure.
So, that's why , Outer space is called as vacuum.

Some Facts About Vacuum :
- Sound can't Travell in Vacuum as there will be no medium to pas.s the sound waves.
- Speed of light in Vacuum is approximately 3×10⁸ m/s. It is so high in Vacuum as there is no other particle to disturb in its path.
- As we know, the pressure moves from high pressure to low pressure, so is you create a vacuum in an area, and provide anything with higher pressure, it will go towards the vacuum . This idea gave rise to the invention of Vacuum cleaner.
- If you go in space without space suit, your blood vessels, respiratory Tract etc. will start to burst as due to the presence of zero pressure outside.
- There are many inventions using the ideas of vacuum. Some are :
- Mercury Barometer by Evangelista Torricelli
- Pirani Gauge By Marcello Stefano Pirani
- Molecular Pump by Fernand Holweck

Answer:
Outer space is nearly empty because most of matter that used to be out there has literally fallen into an asteroid, planet, moon, or star under the influence of gravity. The expansion of the universe only affects the distance between galaxies, and does not increase the distances between objects inside a galaxy.
