water is compound =H2O thus this water formula which means it is made up of two different atoms that are hydrogen and oxygen thus it is compound as compounds which those substances made up two different atoms .....and in case of sugar it is complex food in simple it is mixture as it is made of carbon +hydrogen +oxygen atoms
