Answer:

2x - y =. 5

multiplying both sides by 2

we get,

4x - 2y = 10. .....i

and 3x - 2y = 11. ...ii

subtracting equation ii from i

4x - 2y - ( 3x - 2y) = 10 - 11

=> 4x - 2y - 3x + 2y = -1

=> x = -1

put x = -1 in equation ii

3x - 2y = 11

=> 3 × ( -1) - 2y = 11

=> -3 - 2y = 11

=> -2y = 11 + 3

=> -2y = 14

=> y = -14/2

=> y = -7

so,

x = -1

and y = - 7 is the solution.

Answer:

2x − y = 5 .....(I)

3x + 2y = 11 .....(II)

Multiplying (I) with 2 we get

4x−2y=10 .....(III)

Adding (II) with (III)

7x=21⇒x=3

Putting the value of x in (I) we get

2×3−y=5

⇒6−y=5

⇒y=1
