Step-by-step explanation:

 \frac{ - 11}{12}  -  \frac{ - 33}{9}  \\  \\  \frac{ - 33 - ( - 132)}{36} \\  =  \frac{99}{36}  \\  =  \frac{33}{12}  \\   = \frac{11}{4}

   \frac{ - 33}{9} - (\frac{ - 11}{12})

 \frac{ - 33}{9}  +  \frac{11}{12}

 \frac{ - 33 \times 12}{9 \times 12}  +  \frac{11 \times 9}{12 \times 9}

 \frac{ - 396 + 99}{108}

 \frac{ - 297}{108}

 =  - 2.75
